About Blue Tapestry Threads

What does the name Blue Tapestry Threads mean?

The color blue, aside from one of my favorite colors, represents the color of the throat chakra. The throat chakra is about self-expression, expression of truth and creative expression. It is the fifth chakra. A chakra is thought to be the energy center in the human body and there are seven of them. The reason I chose the word tapestry was because of the connotations of fabric the word provides.  It reminds me of a Maya Angelou quote that states, “We should all know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads are equal in value no matter what their color.” Thus, self-expression through clothing and products in conjunction with celebrating diversity through fabric and material choices is the cornerstone of my business and what I refer back to when I am making decisions about how to grow my business and what Blue Tapestry has to offer the world as a whole.

What makes Blue Tapestry Threads unique?

Blue Tapestry Threads is a company which focuses on creating fun unexpected clothing for children. By unexpected, we mean the amazing and bright patterns we marry together in our products. For us, clothing is about expression of self. Babies are born with their own unique personalities. I am the mother of three amazing little ones and they are characters all their own! I am reminded of a Dr. Seuss quote that asks, “Why fit in when you were born to stand out?” We are here to help you achieve this goal of being unique. I love the two year old who is confident in their sense of self to pair a tutu with rain boots, a flower in his hair, or stripes with polka dots and anything and everything in between. It works for the simple fact that it is how they identify themselves. At Blue Tapestry Threads, we try to capture that feeling of self-expression in our clothing.

As the person who designs the clothing and chooses the high quality fabrics, I am looking for fabrics that feel soft and delicate like a newborn baby, but also have pizzazz and a boldness that every toddler possesses. I also like to find fabrics that present themselves as gender neutral.
